Mountain Academy funds Tetley Homeschool Academy and runs all their extracurricular activities. Many of these are only run during holidays and other times such as the M.A. Summer Camp. You can find the official blog for M.A. Schooling here These activities include:
⛰ Mountain Academy Schooling: Also known as Tetley Homeschool Academy, this option is reserved to these within the club founders family. With their sparkling gingham uniform, the girls and boys (2 and above) going to this school are helped by Monitors, (a career choice, you could take upper schooling), do sport with teachers and learn about the great outdoors and the three Rs. We teach in Tidiness and Obedience among other things.
⛰ Mountain Academy Biking: These cool bikers enjoy learning bike skills and courtesy on the route. Part of the M.A. Schooling’s curriculum, this fun biking activity is also available to all those who wish for it!
⛰ Mountain Academy Sports: This sports club teaches lots of sports that interest today’s youth. Basketball, Football, Cricket, Running, Rugby and many more. This club holds competitions with neighbours around the club and teaches plenty of good sports. N.B. This Activity does not include sports specialities such as Biking, Skiing, Swimming etc…
⛰ Mountain Academy Coding: Using the lessons on the great website: www.learning.gracetetley.com, this activity is designed to teach the kids how to update and improve your local club website. This activity is great fun for those with laptops and easy ways to access the internet during the meetings. This may not be the most outdoorsy activity, but it is fun.
⛰ Mountain Academy Cooking: From camp-recipes to cordon bleu gourmet cooking this activity will make you lick your lips in delight. Kids learn to make all sorts of delicious food from beans to burritos. We also have a campfire cookery badge they can work on. Recipes can be found here
⛰ Mountain Academy Hiking: Hiking is a great activity to do if you love the great outdoors. (who doesn’t?) You will learn to carry a sack, find sticks and just enjoy the earth. N.B. Please take in mind small children may not hold on long walks so please plan according to ability. Our newsletters can be found here.
⛰ Mountain Academy Calm Activities Girls Club: C.A. Girls Club is run by older sisters to teach their sisters things like knitting, sewing, drawing, embroidery, cleaning videos and magazine writing. Magazines for this can be found here. After a short break, they have recently started up again.
